Hi All
I've had a few people emailing and asking where I have been
so..... I thought I would just update on my blog, instead of individual emails
A couple weeks ago my Lily, hit her knee coming up the steps.
She was lame on the left hind leg, off to the vet,.......
Xrays, shown, no fracture, but vet said she dislocated her left knee.
We tried meds and rest, but to no avail,
it was off to the surgeon, for a consult.
The conclusion....surgery to repair the Left knee and tendon
(Looks scary sore)
Surgery was successful, but still long road ahead
right now very min. weight bearing, she needs to be carried outside to do business,
knee needs to be iced at least 4 times a day. And I have been hand feeding her, instead of her eating with one leg in the air.
(kinda looks like she has no pants on)
She came home with a fentanyl patch (pain patch), along with pain meds
this will be for at least next 2 weeks, and not to be unsupervised, that she jumps or runs,
(don't think shes ready for that!)
2 weeks, she gets stitches removed, than Therapy, and one day at a time!
8-10 weeks for full healing. Hopefully running by Summer.
Will keep you posted on this post, as she progresses.
Thanks to all for your Prayers and well wishes for my FURBABY!!
She means the world to me!
HUGS!!
Poor Lily! Sorry to hear about her accident, but so happy to hear that surgery was a success and that she is doing well! Sounds like you are an excellent "Pet Mama"...best wishes and hugs to you both!
ReplyDeleteawwwww so sorry to hear of this. Sending all speedy recovery wishes her way...keeping her in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteAaaaawwe, poor baby! Look at that sad exhausted little expression. sounds like she's in the best hands and she'll long forget about all this and doing happy doggie things before long.
ReplyDeleteI have a fur-baby and my heart broke when I read your story. My Abby had major cancer surgery when she was 8 months old and your pics and info brought back memories (she's 6 now). Hopefully it will soon be a distant memory. Sounds like you are a terrific 'fur-mom' -- keeping you both in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteAwww, ouch! Hope she is feeling a lot better.
